Testimonials

I have had such a great experience and appreciate the professional attitudes by all musicians and engineers provided for the few sessions we have had. The continuing effort to nourish the relationship between myself, the artist, and Sound Harbor. While we were just shooting for only backing track the product that was produced was 100 times better than I could have ever hoped for.  Sound Harbor worked with me on so many levels to meet a very, very tight time line which was amazing. Thanks!

From the very beginning of my project, I felt that Tom really understood where I was coming from and what I hoped to achieve. He treated me with respect and a caring attitude that made me feel comfortable and I think he was able to bring out the best in me as an artist.  And, in fact, I feel he took my songs to another level in terms of the arrangements and quality of sound. The musicians he chose were outstanding and so easy and fun to work with.  The production was creative, highly professional and so much more than I had even anticipated. I found the whole staff friendly, cohesive as a team and expert at what they do.
Tom promised me a CD that would be “radio quality” and he delivered exactly what he promised. I feel proud of what I have and it makes such a difference in terms of image and marketing.  I highly recommend Sound Harbor and look forward to working with them again!

Working with Sound Harbor Productions was a great experience for me. I began working with Tom on a few songs that I hoped to get recorded eventually. Working with Tom helped me get a feel for the whole experience of creating a finished and polished song beginning to end. In the early stages of the process, Tom served as a guide for me, but forced me to teach and motivate myself. The best part about working with him, was that he cared about my song, and myself as an artist. The recording process went very smoothly, and the musicians that I was set up with were very talented, and cooperative. Although I am still in the beginning phases of my songwriting and performing, I already feel that I have gotten a good glimpse into what I should expect in my future as a musician. I look forward to working with Tom and his team in the future.

The first time I sat down with Tom Acousti to discuss my project he asked me what my goals were for this particular album.  I explained that I wanted every song to stand on its own and have an album I would still be proud to sell in ten years.  Tom then explained he had his own goals if he produced this record.  After seeing me perform live he made it clear it was his job to capture every style I perform live on tape and to capture who I was as an artist.  Only than would we have a final product.  This was just a foreshadow of how involved and passionate Tom was about this record.  Needless to say we both reached our goals.

My situation was unique in that I wanted the country instrumentation of pedal steel guitar, dobro and fiddle on the album.  Tom used his relationships in Nashville and we ended up tracking in one day down there what would have been many sessions and countless hours trying out players up here.  That sort of instrumentation and the studio knowledge and work ethic of Nashville is just not as accessible up here.  But lucky for us, Tom has access to it.

Tom put me through songwriting boot camp prior to even setting up a microphone.  For the first couple months I would just come in once a week with rewrites and we would hash them out and come up with solo arrangements on either guitar or piano before we discussed production.  Tom wears many hats but it was Tom the songwriter that made me decide he was the producer I wanted to work with.  His insights and knowledge of the craft were invaluable to my project and to me as an artist when I began the album.  Tom showed up at the perfect time.

Sound harbor studios is not just surrounded by great musicians but also great attitudes and passionate people.  It’s nice to be in a work environment with folks you’d hang out with on a Sunday afternoon.

‘Til The Day is receiving radio play on a number of local and regional radio stations.  The Quality in sound is comparable to anything you hear on the radio and it stands up next to those recordings without sounding like it was locally recorded or produced.
